Hey, PlayStation Nation! 👋🏻

First of all, I'm happy to be in your lovely forum for updates and discussions on the best PS titles. ❤️

I've got something I've been stewing over for a while, and I'm sure I can't be the only one ruffled by this. You know that sense of pride we get as PlayStation owners when we get to play those insanely good exclusive games? The feeling that we're part of a community that has something special? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

Now, I don't want to sound like a grumpy old gamer, but I've been feeling a bit miffed lately. I'm talking about games like Days Gone, The Last of Us – titles that were once the crown jewels of the PlayStation exclusives, games that we could call our own. But lo and behold, they're being ported to other platforms, and this, frankly, ticks me off a bit.

And you know whats worse? It's the PC gamers. There, I said it. ...

I mean, they're over there clacking away on their keyboards and mice, completely oblivious to the magic of the DualSense controller, the adaptive triggers, and the immersive haptic feedback that we PlayStation gamers have come to love. They're missing out on the full experience, yet they get to play our games!

Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for spreading the joy of gaming, but it just feels wrong to see our exclusives, crafted meticulously for the PlayStation experience, being handed over to PC gamers. Especially when they tend to act like they're the elite of the gaming world.

It's not just about the games, it's about the culture, the community, and the experience. It's about the feel of the controller in your hands, the tension in the triggers, the subtle feedback that immerses you in the game world. It's something that you just can't replicate on a PC.

So, am I the only one feeling this way? Are you bothered by our exclusives being ported to other platforms? Let's have a discussion.

And to all the PC gamers lurking here - no offense, but you're missing out big time! 😚😉

End rant.

It sucks to lose exclusivity but giving these games to PC gamers is still better than releasing them on competing consoles. PC doesn't compete with PS5 that much. Also, there are still plenty of exclusives on PlayStation. They are only making older games available on PC afaik.

You don't know the half of it...

They are treating these Games like dog crap on Computers right now...
They are treating their Customers like dog crap right now, as well...

Also, when people call Today's Games actually good Games?

I think to myself, these people don't know what Good Games are,
or they don't know what makes a Game a Good Game...

There is a Good Game, a Great Game, & then there is a Bad Horrible Game...

Now, there are very few Great Games out there...
Great Games are like Games that even make Triple A Games look bad...

A Good Game is something like
Tomb Raider, The Evil Within, Madden 09, Armored Core 1-4,
BF Bad Company 1, Medal Of Honor, Mario Oddysy, Legend Of Zelda,
Sonic The Hedgehog 1-3, Dead Space 1-2, & Mod Nation Racers...
(It's about Strong Characters, Strong Stories, Good Special Effects, & Great Visuals)

A Great Game however is something like: FEAR 1, Silent Hill 1-3, Halo 1 & 2,
Original Resident Evil 1, Metroid 1 & Super Metroid, Motor Storm 1, & MAG...
(It's about the Feel of the Game, the Strong Immersion, & Intense Driven Stories)

What do you think makes a Game worth it to you?

Can't say I don't share the feeling, but as other comments has stated, PC isn't having the whole PlayStation experience, for myself the thing that has me stick to my PlayStation is the Dualsense, even when I have a PC myself, I prefer to play, for example, Wreckfest on my PS5 for the haptic feedback and adaptative triggers

I hear you loud and clear. That sense of pride and community we share as PlayStation owners is truly something special. There's nothing quite like diving into those top-tier exclusive titles that define our gaming experience.

But lately, there's been a bit of a shake-up, hasn't there? Seeing beloved exclusives like Days Gone and The Last of Us making their way to other platforms can definitely stir up some mixed feelings. It's like watching our prized possessions being loaned out to someone else's party.

And let's talk about PC gamers, shall we? Now, before anyone gets riled up, hear me out. It's not about exclusion; it's about preserving what makes the PlayStation experience unique. Our DualSense controller isn't just a tool for playing games—it's an extension of the gameplay itself. The adaptive triggers, the haptic feedback, all of it adds layers to the immersion that you just can't replicate elsewhere.

So, yeah, it's a bit frustrating to see these meticulously crafted experiences being shared with a crowd that might not fully appreciate what makes them special. But hey, maybe it's an opportunity for them to see what they've been missing out on, right?

Let's keep the conversation going. Are you feeling the same way? Or do you see it from a different angle? Share your thoughts, and let's dive into this together.

And to our PC gaming friends peeking in—no hard feelings. But seriously, you might want to give that DualSense a try. Trust me, it's a game-changer. 😉🎮

End of rant.

Yes I agree. Porting to PC is a massive mistake. Sony is chasing short term profits. People only buy the consoles because of the good exclusive software. They need to stop immediately

I prefer things be exclusive too. But I can see where they're coming from. The cost of games has gotten extreme. And now some of the best games have to sell 6+ million just to break even. If the PS5 had dominance similar to what the PS1 or PS2 had in marketshare it may not be an issue. But since a good number of people are spread with xbox, putting some things on PC makes sense (in terms of recouping costs)

I totally get where you're coming from. That sense of pride in PlayStation exclusives is something special, no doubt. It’s tough seeing titles like The Last of Us and Days Gone make their way to other platforms. It kinda feels like sharing a well-guarded secret with the world, and not everyone fully "gets it." That said, I also see why they’re doing it. The cost of game development has shot through the roof, and hitting those 6+ million sales numbers to just break even is no small feat. With the console market more divided than it was back in the PS1/PS2 days, I guess porting some games to PC helps recover those costs. Still, nothing beats playing with the DualSense! You’re right—those adaptive triggers and haptics are a next-level experience. Hopefully, the core of what makes PlayStation special doesn’t get lost in all this expansion.

What do you think makes a Game worth it to you?
Man, you hit the nail on the head with this one! 🎯

I completely agree, there's a massive difference between good games, great games, and the ones that just fall flat. Nowadays, it feels like some people settle for "good enough," but those of us who’ve been around for a while know what truly makes a game stand out. And yeah, a lot of these recent releases just don't have that same magic.

Like you said, it’s more than just flashy graphics or a big budget – it’s about the characters, the story, the feeling you get when you’re completely immersed. Games like FEAR or Silent Hill? They didn’t just look good; they had this incredible atmosphere that sucked you in and didn’t let go. That’s what makes a great game – that emotional connection, the adrenaline, the sheer experience.

I mean, Tomb Raider and Dead Space? Solid examples of good games that nailed the fundamentals. But Halo, Silent Hill, Resident Evil? Those are in a league of their own because they didn’t just tell a story – they made you feel it.

And yeah, the way some games are being treated on PC right now is disappointing. It's like the industry's just churning out stuff without that same level of care. So I totally get where you're coming from.

For me, a game is worth it when it sticks with you long after you've finished playing. When you think about it years later and still get that rush. What about everyone else? What makes a game truly great in your eyes? 🎮🔥
