Hi everyone. I have a playstation 5 that I purchased new in January of 2024 and hadn't had it very long before it started logging me out a lot. I talked with an PS expert yesterday. I hope the issue is resolved we will see in time. How often should you clear cache and rebuild database on the console. I am an retired man and not real computer and electronics savy. But any how often should this be done once a week once a month. Not sure how often it should be done. Thanks for any input!!

Hi & welcome.
I don’t think I’ve ever done that on a schedule - only if a problem occurs which may be fixed by clearing cache & rebuilding the database.
If you wish to do this regularly then once a month is the usual timeframe.

Thanks for your comment and response. I am not real tech savy as I am in my 60s and retired so I wasn't sure about it. The console still around a year old has performed pretty well. But after a while of using it and I play it a lot this time of year in the U.S. I started having problems of it logging me out on average about every 3 to 4 days give or take when playing my game. Its a week old TV LG oled C model with a 120 hertz. I was experiencing blackouts frequently, didn't log me out but I have to go to the TV to get back to my game. So far the new faster TV seems to have taken care of that part of it. Even went to the measure of clearing and re-setting my console lost all of my game progress and had to start over with the game. But any how back to the original question I wasn't aware that clearing the cache and rebuilding database was a need so I will do it probably on a monthly basis as you suggested. Thank you for your comment.

Thanks Tony

You’re welcome. Glad to hear the problems you were experiencing have been fixed.
If it happens again then please post back & we’ll offer some suggestions
