PS4 CONECTION SPEEDS!

I have a PS-4 slim and have had it for several years. I've also had COX internet at the highest speed they offer. The problem I'm having is my upload and download speeds used to be great but it seams they go down with every update! At one point I was getting700 down and around 80 up. Now I'm at less than 100 down and single digits up. Now working away from home and using xfinity sold as 1000 DLS and only getting around 270 down and 6 up! Honestly I feel like sony is nerfing it in efforts to cause me to buy a PS5. Can this be fixed in any way? Can it be fixed in the operating system or hardware. will opening up and doing a deep clean help? The lag in input is so frustrating it makes me want to stop playing! Is there any fix for this besides buying a new system? maybe I could get someone with a ps4 to come over and do a speed test to see if it's my ps4 or the isp!
 
Is the PS4 connected via Ethernet or WiFi?
If WiFi then try Ethernet if possible.
Otherwise restart the router/modem. Also try restarting the console or even completely turning it off then on.
 
Just a note that typing in capitals is considered shouting on the internet & not emphasis.
Does the Wi-Fi automatically connect on the PS4 when turned back on? Is there a reason why you turn it off?
