Why and when was the ps4 banned?

Hi guys, I'm really short on time here but the short of it is, I am a reseller of consoles on ebay. I test all consoles physically and technically in all aspects to ensure all is working as should prior to listing and selling. I have had a PS4 returned after the buyer has had the console for around 2 weeks. I sold this PS4 to the buyer with OFW 10.01 now it has been returned with OFW 11.51 and has been banned from PSN. Now I have a hunch what has happened here but have no way of proving to ebay. So my question is, can Sony give me ofno on when and why this console was banned? And can they give me this info in writing so that I can share this with ebay to avoid having to refund this buyer?

I doubt it as I suspect they’d only inform the person who owns the account. In any case eBay always seems to side with the buyer in many cases so would automatically refund them.
