Way of the hunter

Hello ! I’ve just started Way of the hunter. I’m baffled that wherever I go on foot or jeep, there seems to be a purple “cloud” following me everywhere. And no pest around to shoot etc. Is this a smell thing or…? What am I doing wrong.? If I go up a hunting stand it goes away, but starts up again when come back down to the ground.

Hello All, Near my character on the map there is a purple hazy area. Any idea what this represents?

Ahh thanx that makes sense. So I should do tasks downwind as such? Never really noticed this at the start of the game …

I expect that would be the case. It sounds like it’s how enemies spot the player.
