Dual Sense Disconnecting

I am hoping anyone has advice on how to fix this. The problem started about 3 months ago, barely noticeable, but I would get slight lag when doing remote play. This was to be expected, but then I started noticing it happening directly on my PS5. It is so bad now that the disconnect/lag can last up to 10-15 seconds and once it starts disconnecting/lagging you're lucking if you can get the system into rest mode. Here is a list of the things I have tried:

1. Turned everything off and on, including bluetooth
2. Disconnected and reconnected the controller
3. Disconnected and hard reset the controller
*** Did this with two controllers to the same result.
4. Did a complete system restore on the PS5
5. Connected the controller with a cable and it still happened.
6. Turned off remote play.

My assumption is that the PS5, not the controllers, has the problem based on all these results. I don't have the money for a new PS5, so if this is broke then my console gaming days are over.
